ISNA / East Azerbaijan The head of the East Azerbaijan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization said: “With the aim of meeting the needs for imports and completing the supply chain, the largest sedimentary calcium carbonate production unit in the Middle East will be established with an investment of 12 million euro in Ahar city.”

Saber Parnian in a meeting with Seyed Jalal Ataei, the CEO of Azerbaijan Molybdenum Copper Industrial and Mining Company, said: “The final knowledge-based product in this unit is in accordance with the main policies of the 13th government and the Ministry of Samt to create high value-added of mineral resources.”

He pointed out that sedimentary calcium carbonate is 10 times more valuable than hydrated lime, and expressed his interest in producing this product, while meeting the needs of domestic industries and preventing imports, 60 young people in the region will be employed.

Parnian said: “By exploiting this project, 30% of the domestic needs, including the paper industry, will be provided .”

According to ISNA, citing the public relations of the East Azerbaijan Industry, Mining, and Trade Organization, in this meeting, Seyed Jalal Ataei, The CEO of Azerbaijan Molybdenum Copper Industrial and Mining Company presented a report on the company’s latest activities and successes in the first year of operation in Ahar’s hydrated lime factory and said: the self-sufficiency of the northwestern copper industry in supplying the hydrated lime for its needs is one of the achievements of this group and with the construction of phase two calcination furnace, the factory production capacity will be improved and finally with PCC production, the conditions to prevent the imports of the knowledge-based product, The foundation will be provided.
