ILNA / Referring to the last year’s trade balance and the growth of non-oil exports, the Deputy Minister and Director General of the Trade Development Organization of Iran said: In 1400, the country’s non-oil exports were $ 48 billion and imports $ 53 billion, and the trade balance reached more than $ 103 billion.

Alireza Peymanpak, referring to the growth of exports to the markets of neighboring countries, announced a 65% growth in exports to Oman and a 140% growth in exports to Turkey.

Referring to the new export opportunities created by global changes and crises and the growth of exports to new markets, Peyman Pak reported a 70% increase in exports to Indonesia, a 150% increase in exports to Ghana, and a 500% increase in exports to South Africa.

Activation of commercial corridors

Referring to the activation of trade corridors, including the North-South and East-West corridors, accompanied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, the Deputy Minister and Director General of the Trade Development Organization of Iran said: The country’s income from this sector increased 2.5 times last year, which needs to continue to increase.

Removing barriers to foreign trade

Referring to the measures taken to remove barriers to foreign trade, the Deputy Minister and Director General of the Trade Development Organization of Iran said: “On the return of foreign exchange from exports, customs, support for traders abroad, the more active presence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (visas and support ), Attention to foreign trade issues in the joint commissions, and laws and regulations, facilities were provided and efforts were made to support foreign trade in the general discussion of the country’s policies.
Emphasizing the coordination between the agencies in the field of foreign trade, Peymanpak said: “Laws to protect other economic sectors should not be done in foreign trade and the necessary coordination should be done between domestic market regulation policies and foreign trade development policies, so that government investment can be made.”

Developing the export of more value-added goods

Referring to the development of exports of value-added goods and preventing the sale of raw materials and the development and completion of the value chain, the Deputy Minister and Director General of the Trade Development Organization of Iran said: Increase export profits by taking advantage of B2C platforms and applications, and by connecting to distribution networks and retailers that generate more added value.

Emphasizing export-oriented production, Peyman Pak said: “If production is for export, the domestic market will be less affected and we tried to have an export-oriented approach in the areas where we have an advantage, and not in such a way that only surplus consumption is exported.”

The Deputy Minister and Chairman of the Trade Development Organization of Iran, stating that some products do not have a market in the country but are considered strategic goods in other countries, said: “Therefore, we tried to change the approach and complete supply and production chains for exports.”

Emphasizing consortium building and cooperation with ITC according to this approach, Peyman Pak said: “The change of production orientation towards export-oriented production will be followed with government support, futures research and market research and analysis with the cooperation of different production sectors in this field.

Take advantage of business opportunities in neighboring countries

Referring to the use of trade opportunities in neighboring countries, the Deputy Minister and Director General of the Trade Development Organization of Iran said: “In the Eurasian region, with the support of upstream institutions, appropriate measures were taken to create an export leap in recent months.”

Peyman Pak added: “In the countries of the Persian Gulf, due to the good political atmosphere that has been created, there is a good opportunity for the development of exports.” In the field of African countries, there were many trade opportunities that were missed, and we tried to have a comprehensive plan for the export leap by activating the General Directorate of Africa.

Utilize private sector capacity

 

The Deputy Minister and Director General of the Trade Development Organization of Iran, emphasizing the need to consult with the private sector in formulating foreign trade policies, said: “We tried to use private-sector solutions and the capacity of joint chambers in decision-making. We had a very good experience in this field in cooperation with the Joint Chamber of Oman and Qatar.”

 

Peymanpak added: “In 2022, we will organize cooperation with this department and many matters will be assigned.”

 

Referring to the policies to support the production of knowledge-based companies, the Deputy Minister and General Director of the Trade Development Organization of Iran said: “We are trying to direct export incentives to knowledge-based companies in 2022.”

 

Emphasizing the use of innovative methods in foreign trade, Peyman Pak said: “The development of business activities in cyberspace, the development of creative industries, the use of B2B systems and activities in the field of cryptocurrencies and the transition from traditional to modern business will be pursued in this direction.”
