HOW MUCH WAS IRAN’S TOTAL OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN 2020?

Iran’s commissioner of customs declared, “A total of 145 million and 7 thousand tonnes of goods, worth 73 billion dollars, have been imported to and exported from the Iranian borders, over the past year.(Iran’s total trade 2020)”.

Based on what Tejaratnews reported, Mahdi Mirashrafi mentioned in a press conference that during the last year, 112 million tonnes of goods, worth 34 billion and 256 million dollars, have been exported from the country and added, “The most prominent exported commodities of our country- in order of most quantity to least- are petrol, natural gas, polyethylene, propane and pistachio. Our major trading partner countries for export have been China, Iraq, UAE, Turkey and Afghanistan.”.

He said, “the value of exported goods to China was 8.9 billion dollars weighing 26.6 million tonnes, to Iraq 7.3 billion dollars weighing 25.6 million tonnes, to UAE 4.6 billion dollars weighing 15.2 million tonnes, to Turkey 2.5 million dollars weighing 6.3 million tonnes and to Afghanistan 2.2 billion dollars weighing 7 million tonnes.”.

The commissioner of customs estimated the total value of exported goods to these 5 counties, around 25.7 billion dollars and added, “over the past year, more than 80 million tonnes of goods have been exported to these 5 counties.”.

Mirashrafi said, “from the total of 145 million tonnes of traded goods, 34.4 million tonnes –worth 38.4 billion dollars- were imported.”.

He added, “An overall of 23.1 million tonnes of essential goods, including corn, cellphone devices, rice, press cake, oil seeds, wheat and raw oil –worth 12 billion dollars were imported in 2020.”

The commissioner of customs said, “The essential goods imported from China weighing 3.5 million tonnes were worth 9.7 billion dollars, from UAE weighing 5 million tonnes were worth 9.6 billion dollars, from Turkey worth 4.3 million dollar, from India weighing 2.2 million tonnes worth 2.1 billion dollars and from Germany weighing 1.2 million tonnes were worth 1.8 million dollars.”.

Mirashrafi added, “The total value of the country’s traded goods amounted to 73 billion dollars, which 34.5 billion dollars of it was the value of our export and 38.5 billion dollars of it was the value our import.”.

He said, “the trade balance of 2020 (Iran’s total trade 2020), with a trade deficit of 4 billion dollars in import, was negative.”.

Islamic Republic of Iran’s commissioner of customs declared the amount of the country’s export around 112 million tonnes, worth 34 billion and 526 million dollars and added, “The export value of pistachio, as our fifth highly exported commodity, is estimated around 1.2 billion dollars.”.
